5 of the Highest Ranked High Schools in Maryland

If you’re looking to relocate, public school systems may be one of the biggest deciding factors. When it comes to Maryland, Montgomery County Public Schools contain the majority of the highest-ranked public high schools.

 

US NEWS recently came out with their rankings for 2022, placing schools from Bethesda, Potomac, and Rockville in the top 10. Their rankings are based on graduation rates, college readiness, national rankings, and the Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program in science, math, and English language arts.

 

Coming in at #1, Walt Whitman High School located in Bethesda off Whittier Blvd, has a 95% graduation rate, an 87.3% score for college readiness, and an enrollment of 1,991 as of 2022. It has held the top spot for three of the last four years.

 

Ranked at #2, Thomas S. Wootton High School, located in Rockville, MD off of Wootton Parkway, has a 95% graduation rate, 78.9% college readiness score, and an enrollment of 2,037 as of 2022.

 

Ranked #5 in Maryland, Winston Churchill High School has a 95% graduation rate, 84.1% college readiness score, and an enrollment of 2,245 as of 2022. It is located in Potomac off of Tuckerman Lane and Gainsborough Rd.

 

Ranked at #8 in Maryland, Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School has a 93% graduation rate, 70.7% college readiness score and an enrollment of 2,270. Located in Bethesda on East-West Highway, this school is perfectly situated within walking distance of Bethesda Row.

 

Ranked at #9, Richard Montgomery High School has a 94% graduation rate, 72.8% college readiness score, and an enrollment of 2,410. It is located in Rockville right off of Rockville Pike at the intersection of Veirs Mill Rd.
